Western Kentucky’ QB Brandon Doughty Wins College Football All Star Challenge 

The record setting WKU Senior quarterback Brandon Doughty was named the winner of the 2016 Quicken Loans All-Star Football Challenge which was held at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas. The 18th annual challenge which featured quarterbacks Brandon Doughty of Western Kentucky, Cody Kessler of Southern California, and Cardale Jones of Ohio State. Doughty and Kessler each finished with 226 points, but Doughty won a long distance throw tiebreaker. Cardale Jones, formerly of Ohio State, finished with 188 points.  

Doughty has been training for the NFL draft with quarterback coach Ken Mastrole of the Mastrole QB Academy.  Their focus has been on an intense arm isomeric and conditioning program to increase ball excited speed and rotational force.  Along with the arm speed drills Mastrole and Doughty spend 20-30 hours a week on interview prep, footwork, and mental development.  The NFL combine in Indianapolis will be the next test in Doughty’s process.
